Paper Wasp Type collecting paper to build their nest.
They use their mandibles to cut away a thin shaving off the surface
of weathered wood. They move slowly backwards and roll up the shaving.
They fly back to the nest, mix it with saliva and place it on the nest
where they think it should go. These generate many calls.

Above are pictures of various stinging insects & wasps, but mostly these
look like stinging insects. The ones that look like actual stinging insects
enjoy some protection as a result.
Note: we are exterminators so we really know the ones you may have a problem
with, but since we don't have dealings with the look-alikes, we don't want to look
like we know much about the look-alikes. The look-alike pictures are
presented to help you ID what you have.
